Product: Veeva Quality Cloud (also Veeva Quality; historically Vault Quality). Life-sciences apps in the suite: Veeva QMS, Veeva QualityDocs, Veeva Training, Veeva Validation Management, Veeva Batch Release, Veeva Product Surveillance, Veeva Station Manager, Veeva LIMS, Veeva EHS, Veeva LearnGxP, and Veeva Quality Basics. Veeva QualityOne (consumer, food and CPG QHSE on Vault) is a separate line and not covered here. Vendor: Veeva Systems Inc. (NYSE: VEEV), 4280 Hacienda Drive, Pleasanton, California 94588. Category: Life-sciences quality suite on the Veeva Vault cloud platform: eQMS, GxP controlled content, training, and adjacent QC and validation apps. Not an MES, ERP, CRM, RIM, clinical eTMF/CTMS, or pharmacovigilance safety system. Verification date: 2026-10-02. Scope: Public web sources only.
1. Overview
Veeva Quality Cloud is the quality suite on Veeva's life-sciences Vault platform, sold alongside Veeva's Development, Commercial, and Data clouds. Its buyers are biopharma companies, contract manufacturers, generics makers, and medtech firms; Veeva says “More than 600” of them “standardize and optimize quality management with Veeva Quality applications” (Veeva Quality Cloud, vendor page).
The suite runs as multi-tenant SaaS on Vault. Pricing is quote-only; Veeva publishes no list price.
The suite is several named apps on one platform, not one SKU. Veeva QMS runs quality events: deviations, CAPA, complaints, audits, quality risk management, supplier quality, and change control. Veeva QualityDocs controls GxP documents. Veeva Training manages GxP training and qualification. Optional apps cover validation, batch release, medtech product surveillance, shop-floor document delivery, LIMS, and EHS. Older press and story URLs say Vault Quality or Vault QMS for the same suite.
What it is not:
- Not Vault CRM, Commercial Cloud, Vault RIM, Vault Clinical, Vault Safety, or PromoMats. QMS connects to RIM, Safety, and CTMS, which remain separate products (Veeva QMS).
- Not an MES. Station Manager delivers controlled documents to manufacturing stations. Batch Release aggregates release data. Veeva markets neither as an MES (Quality Cloud; Batch Release).
- Not Veeva QualityOne. QualityOne is sold at
qualityone.comfor broader regulated manufacturing and QHSE, including food safety and HACCP. It shares Vault and some app names (QMS, QualityDocs) but is a separate go-to-market line (QualityOne overview help; qualityone.com products). - Not discontinued. QMS (announced 2016), QualityDocs (2013), Training (2018), Validation Management (2021), and Batch Release (2023) are current, with maturity labels from “Early” to “Very Mature.”

3. Pharma and biotech relevance
Veeva built the suite for GxP manufacturers. Its customer stories are drug makers and CDMOs.
- Quality events. QMS covers complaints, deviations, audits, quality risk management, supplier quality, and change control. External partners work on investigations, audit findings, CAPA, and supplier change control in the same system (Veeva QMS).
- GxP document control. QualityDocs covers SOPs, policies, work instructions, quality agreements, and batch-related documents, with review, approval, and audit trails. Veeva's medtech copy says QualityDocs supports 21 CFR Part 11, EU Annex 11, and GxP compliance (QualityDocs).
- Training tied to CAPA. Training is unified with QualityDocs. At medac, a CAPA triggers training and closes when training is complete (Training; medac story).
- Medtech post-market surveillance. Product Surveillance handles device post-market processes and adverse-event reporting to health authorities. EDI/XML detail is in a 2023 product sheet (Quality Cloud; Vault Quality product sheet PDF).
- GMP batch release. Batch Release pulls data from QualityDocs, QMS, LIMS, ERP, and RIM for release and market-ship decisions (Batch Release).
- CDMOs and multi-site makers. Veeva stories name Recipharm (14 sites), Richter BioLogics (Hamburg and Bovenau), medac, Sanofi, and Heron (Recipharm; Richter; Sanofi).
The customer counts are Veeva's. App pages pair “More than 300/500” headlines with “Customers 100+” badges.
FDA and EMA searches on 2 Oct 2026 found no clearance, authorization, or other record naming the software.

5. Architecture and deployment
Veeva Quality Cloud is multi-tenant SaaS on the Veeva Vault platform. Veeva's FY2026 Form 10-K says its technology is “generally based on multitenant architectures.” Veeva's product pages list no on-premise SKU for QMS or QualityDocs. (FY2026 Form 10-K.)
- The apps share Vault, so quality events, documents, and training stay connected (Quality Cloud).
- Veeva says it performs IQ/OQ for platform releases and supplies UAT/PQ support materials. Customers validate their configured use (Vault validation datasheet).
- Batch Release requires QMS and QualityDocs (Batch Release).
Veeva does not publish region lists, tenant isolation detail, RPO/RTO, database brand, supported browsers, or a security white paper.
Life-sciences Vault Help (not QualityOne)
- Veeva Quality Overview: apps work alone or together in one Vault. Lists QMS, Product Surveillance, QualityDocs, Training, Station Manager, Validation Management, Batch Release, and HACCP (a food-safety app in this help family).
- QMS Overview: lifecycles for Deviation, Internal/External Audit, Complaint, Lab Investigation, Change Control, and CAPA; supplier access; QRM / Risk Builder; APQR/QMR; Field Corrective Action; complaint intake; Quality–RIM and Quality–Clinical Operations connections.
- QualityDocs Overview: document change control, controlled copies, Read & Understood, periodic reviews, Process Navigator, regulatory-requirements mapping, QR codes (including via Station Manager).
- About Veeva Connections: Vault-to-Vault connections, including Quality–RIM (document exchange, change control, product transfer, variation management) and Quality–Safety for complaint and AE intake.
6. Integrations
| Integration | Fact | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Quality–RIM Connection | Veeva-built link between Vaults. “Veeva Quality to RIM Connection accelerates the change control process by connecting change control and variation management.” | Quality Cloud |
| QMS–Safety | Complaints flow to Safety. | QMS page |
| QMS–CTMS | Study data and protocol deviation management. | QMS page |
| Batch Release–LIMS / ERP / RIM | Aggregates those systems; LIMS and RIM can be third-party. | Batch Release page |
| External collaboration | Recipharm's sponsors and partners review and approve records in QualityDocs. Richter plans the same. | Customer stories |
| APIs | Vault Help documents named Connections (Quality–RIM, Quality–Safety, Quality–Clinical Operations). Veeva's product pages publish no OpenAPI specification. | Connections help |
7. Pricing and commercial model
Pricing is quote-only; Veeva publishes no list price for QMS, QualityDocs, Training, or the suite. Product pages route to sales.
Quality Basics. Veeva says it carries “no implementation or maintenance costs” for emerging biotechs. Eligibility and license fees are not published.
Third-party estimates. Vendr and CheckThat publish contract medians and per-user ranges for “Veeva Systems” or “Vault QMS”, often across several Veeva products. They are not Veeva prices and are not used here. Everest Group's blog on Vault and CRM renewals gives no Quality price.
Public procurement. A USAspending search on 2 Oct 2026 for Veeva and Veeva Systems returned no federal award. No TED or UK Contracts Finder award naming Vault Quality is cited.
Questions a buyer should ask
- Which apps are in scope (QMS, QualityDocs, Training, Validation, Batch Release, LIMS, Product Surveillance, Station Manager, EHS, LearnGxP, Quality Basics)?
- License metric: user tiers (full, read-only, external), vaults and environments, geographic pricing?
- Are external partner users priced differently?
- What IQ/OQ evidence does Veeva supply, and what PQ/UAT is on the customer?
- Connection fees for Quality–RIM, Safety, CTMS?
- Does Batch Release require Veeva LIMS?
- Quality Basics eligibility, and what “no implementation or maintenance costs” excludes.
- Sandbox, validation, and training environment entitlements.
- Release cadence and regression-test expectations.
- Data residency, subprocessors, audit rights.
8. Implementation and validation support
Veeva says it runs IQ/OQ for platform releases, supplies sandbox and UAT scripts, and aligns its CSV method with GAMP 5. Customers configure Vault and run UAT/PQ for their validated use (Validation datasheet; CSV white paper).
Customer implementation details (Richter, Recipharm, medac) are in section 9. No named customer's IQ/OQ/PQ package is public. No independent CSA assessment of Vault Quality is public.
9. Customer evidence
| Account | Fact | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Recipharm (CDMO, Stockholm) | 14 sites moved from 12 systems plus paper to QualityDocs, QMS, and Training. Veeva reports 60,000 manual hours a year saved and change-control steps cut from 14 to 3. External partners collaborate in QualityDocs. Laura Prada Alonso quoted. | Veeva story |
| medac (Wedel, Germany) | QMS, QualityDocs, Training. Birjo Backasch says multi-site change-control approval is three weeks shorter. CAPA closes when training completes. | Veeva story |
| Richter BioLogics (Hamburg / Bovenau) | QMS since 2019; QualityDocs and Training in 2023. Migrated 5,000+ documents in “a few days.” Chose out-of-the-box workflows over heavy customization. Freed about 4 FTE. Bovenau tripled production in 2024 without tripling paper. Birte Mueller quoted; FDA and ANVISA inspections cited as the pressure. | Veeva story |
| Sanofi | Maïté (Maite) Durrenbach, CQO, featured; QMS, QualityDocs, Training. Mostly video. Same executive quoted on the QMS page. | Veeva page |
| Heron Therapeutics | QMS and QualityDocs; Jeff Anderson calls QMS a “game-changer.” Mostly video. | Veeva page |
| Immunovant | Jennifer H. Simpson: aimed for 10–15% fewer training assignments, got 25–30% fewer per role. | Training page testimonial |
| Resilience; C4 Therapeutics | Quotes on the Validation Management page. | Testimonials |
| ICON | Replaced a homegrown DMS with QualityDocs. | Testimonial |
| Adare Pharma Solutions | Pharmaceutical Technology (13 Jan 2023) reports Adare chose Vault Quality Suite (QMS, QualityDocs, Training) for U.S., French, and Italian sites. Audrey Butler (Adare) and Ashley Wentworth (Veeva) quoted. | Trade press of a Veeva announcement |
| Sanofi (ISPE bio) | Sandy Imbert, MD (Sanofi), lists “deployment of Veeva Vault across quality systems on an industrial site.” | ISPE member bio |
ISPE has published no FOYA or Pharmaceutical Engineering case study of a Vault Quality go-live. ISPE hits are Veeva-authored ISPE Speak posts and people profiles.
10. Competitive and third-party context
Analysts. No Gartner Magic Quadrant or Forrester Wave for eQMS was reviewed; the reports are paywalled. Gartner Peer Insights (Quality Management System / Veeva) sits behind a bot check, so no rating is used.
Pricing blogs. Vendr, CheckThat, ERP Research, and Everest Group show buyers negotiate Veeva pricing.
QualityOne. QualityOne customer counts are not Quality Cloud life-sciences customers.
